Meet Chef Steve Couch!
Chef Steve Couch is the founder and Executive Chef of Mr. Eat Right: Personal Chef Services, which provides approachable, friendly service; and customized, seasonally-inspired dishes, created to meet the needs of individuals and families seeking wholesome food, incredible dinner parties and events, cooking or mixology classes, or help with weight management.
A native of Detroit, MI, Chef Steve found his home in Grand Rapids, MI after he earned his bachelor’s degree in Dietetics from Michigan State University, with a specialization in Connected Learning; an associate’s degree in Culinary Arts and an endorsed certificate in Personal/Private Chef, granted by Grand Rapids Community College, the Secchia Institute for Culinary Education, and the American Personal and Private Chef Institute and Association.
His travels have taken him all over the world, and include research on genetically modified food in South Africa; a chef position at the historic St. Andrews Link’s Trust Golf Course in St. Andrews, Scotland; and various cooking positions within the United Kingdom and Michigan. Chef Steve is the resident culinary expert and regular contributor to Take 5 and Company, the most-watched lifestyle show on WZZM-ABC 13 in western Michigan; and he recently returned from filming an episode of Guy’s Grocery Games, an innovative, competitive cooking show on The Food Network that will air in the summer of 2014.
His passion and commitment to improving the lives of others is evident in everything he does. After losing nearly 100 pounds of excess weight, Chef Steve gained excitement for sharing knowledge, helping people reach their health goals through great food, and cooking amazing meals for people to enjoy in the comfort of their own homes.
