Join us to experience a rare and unforgettable total solar eclipse at the edge of the Texas Hill Country, at The Plant at Kyle, an award-winning architectural landmark building designed by Lake|Flato Architects. Enjoy this transformative celestial spectacle in a secluded natural spot with friends, family, and other nature lovers.

The eclipse will be the centerpiece of the day, a spectacular natural phenomena that will evolve over several hours, with the eerie and spectacular total eclipse peaking at 1:30 PM and last nearly two minutes, until the light continues to return to full sunlight. This curated event will run from 11 am to 3 pm, and will feature a range of interdisciplinary activities before, during, and after the solar eclipse. There will be tours of The Plant, short talks by engaging speakers covering topics such as architecture and sustainable design, art and light, nature walks, musical entertainment, and other activities that tie in with the eclipse theme.

The Plant at Kyle, (also known as the Carraro Residence or the Alamo Cement Plant House), began life in the 1920s as a shed at the Alamo Cement plant in San Antonio, Texas (since re-purposed as the Alamo Quarry Market mall). Henry and Francine Carraro purchased the property in Kyle with plans to build a home utilizing a metal building they already owned. They started conversations with the newly launched firm of Lake | Flato Architects, led by David Lake and Ted Flato who met working for legendary Texas architect O'Neill Ford's firm Ford Powell & Carson.

Participation is limited to 100 participants, requires walking on uneven ground and stairs. Driving directions will be sent upon registration. There is ample parking.
